GUIDELINES FOR WRITING A CASE REPORT ABSTRACT
Eligibility
The abstract of a case presentation must include clinical, diagnostic, or therapeutic elements that significantly contribute to advancing knowledge and the management of tick-borne vector diseases.
Format
Maximum of 300 words
Case report abstracts should be submitted in the following structured format:
- Introduction or Background: The introduction provides context for the case and references key medical knowledge and/or studies related to the case. The referenced literature should be credible and, preferably, robust to support the originality of the case.
- Clinical Case (diagnostic evaluation, treatment [adherence, complications, side effects], and follow-up). The case presentation should be chronological and concise, including demographic information if relevant, symptoms, comorbidities, and significant medical history. Anonymity must be preserved.
- Conclusion: Summarize the new key takeaways from the clinical case in comparison to existing literature.
Depending on the complexity of the case, a photo, table, or figure may be helpful for illustration.
