ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
1. Abstract submitters are required to create an abstract submitter account by completing the online form accessible via the conference website before submitting an abstract.
A valid email address is required to receive login information to access the abstract portal.
Please keep your login and password for future connections.
2. Abstracts submitted by fax or post mail will not be considered.
3. Abstracts submitted after 23.59 on January 6, 2025 will not be considered.
4. Multiple abstract submissions are allowed.
5. All abstracts must be submitted in English only.
6. Please do not specify any medical teams or healthcare institutions that would link the work to a specific team
7. The submitter is responsible for ensuring that all author names are accurate at the time of submission. This includes correct spelling, formatting, capitalization, and punctuation of both names and affiliations.
If the submitter is a co-author, they must ensure their name is included in the author list. The submitter is responsible for obtaining permission to submit and present the abstract from all co-authors and relevant stakeholders.
The organization is not liable for any errors in author names or affiliation details.
8. Authors can choose whether to submit an oral communication or a poster abstract however the final decision on the presentation type will be made by the Scientific Committee. The organizers will only publish the submissions of accepted abstract candidates who have fully completed the registration process to attend the conference.
9. The selected Best Abstract Posters will present during the oral flash session (+/- 5 minutes).
10. You can submit your abstracts under 4 themes:
The themes should focus on vector-borne diseases transmitted by ticks and not on the ticks themselves.
- Epidemiology of Tick-Borne Diseases
- Prevention & Vaccination
- Medical Management of Tick-Borne Diseases
- Diagnostic Tests for Tick-Borne Diseases
11. Abstracts should not exceed 300 words. Titles are limited to 30 words.
Accepted types of studies :
- Original Research
- Meta Analysis
- Systematic Reviews
- Qualitative Research
- Case Report (See in the "Case Report" tab for specific guidelines).
The summary must be structured as below:
- Introduction / Context: indicate the purpose and objective of the research, the hypothesis that was tested or a description of the problem being analyzed or evaluated.
- Methods: describe the study period / setting / location, study design, study population, data collection and methods of analysis used.
- Results: present as clearly and as much in detail as possible the findings / outcome of the study, Please summarize any specific results.
- Conclusions / Perspectives: explain the significance of your findings / outcomes of the study such as prevention, treatment, care and/or support, and future implications of the results.
Complete tables and figures: no more than one simple image should be submitted per application (table or illustration).
- Accepted formats: PDF, JPEG or PNG
- Maximum dimensions: 1000 x 1000 pixels
- Maximum file size: 3 MB
Please ensure to higlight the One Health approach while writing your abstract.
The abstract category is the general heading under which an abstract is submitted and reviewed.
12. Blind peer-review process: abstracts will be assessed anonymously by the Scientific Committee and will be evaluated by a panel of international reviewers according to the following criteria:
- Originality
- Coherence between the method and the results
- Scientific interest
- General presentation
The Scientific Committee and review panel will evaluate and assign an average rating to each abstract. Based on this assessment, abstracts will be chosen for either oral or poster presentations. Applicants will be advised of the Scientific Committee’s final decision from January 20th 2025.
13. Summaries not corresponding to the instructions will not be taken into account.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The submission of abstracts will be available from November 1st 2024 to 23:59 January 6th, 2025.
Abstracts must be submitted online during the specified period outlined in the instructions presented above (I. General information).

Please make a note of the abstract number given at the time of submission. Following a successful submission, an automated confirmation message will be sent to the registered email address.
Abstracts can be modified until the submission deadlines as indicated above.
It is advisable to retain a copy of all written communications until the event takes place.

PUBLICATION OF ACCEPTED ABSTRACT
Once your abstract is accepted, you need to be registered in order to present it during the conference.
The submission of the abstracts constitutes the authors’ consent to publication.
Accepted abstracts may also be featured on the European Tick-Borne Diseases Conference program, and other conference materials such as the ETBD Conference abstract archives.
