I. General information
1) Applicants should complete the online abstract registration form on the Congress website by Sunday, March 14, 2021, at 23:59.
Your email address has to be valid.
Abstracts sent by fax, by email or by mail or summaries received after the deadline submission will not be considered.
2) Authors can submit several abstracts.
3) Authors can choose to submit an oral communication, a discussed poster or a poster abstract.
The Scientific Committee will take the final decision onregarding the type of presentation.
The organizers will only publish the papers of accepted abstract candidates who are fully registered to the congress.
4) Only abstracts based on valid studies’ results will be selected.
5) Your abstract should not exceed 2,000 characters. All abstracts have to be submitted in English.
The summary must be structured as below:
a. Introduction (Aim)
b. Materials and methods
c. Results
d. Conclusions
6) Table and figure: no more than one simple image should be submitted per application (table or illustration).
A table or figure is considered as 50 characters. Thus, if you enclose a table/figure, your summary mustn’t exceed 1,950 signs.
7) Review process: summaries will be assessed anonymously and they will be evaluated by a panel of reviewers according to the following criteria:
- Originality
- Coherence between the method and the results
- Scientific interest
- General presentation
Applications will be assessed by the Scientific Committe.
An average rating will be attributed to each abstract.
Abstracts will be selected for oral, discussed poster or poster presentations.
Applicants will be advised of the Scientific Committee’s final decision in April 2021.
8) The abstracts which don't correspond to the instructions will not be taken into account.
II. Abstract submission guidelines
Abstract submission will be opened from May 20, 2019 to March 14, 2021.
Summaries must be submitted online within these dates, according to the instructions presented just above (I. General information).
All submissions must be in English.
Abstracts already published in other congresses may also be presented.
To submit an abstract, click on the link « ABSTRACTS » on the ISHEID website.
You will have to create a login before submitting an abstract: complete the submission form with your contact details.
To modify your abstract, log in with your username and password.
You will receive an email confirming the complete submission of your abstract.
You can modify your abstract as long as you have saved it but not submitted. You just need to connect to your account before the closing date: March 14, 2021 at 23.59.
We recommend you to keep a copy of all written exchanges until the congress.

III. Your abstract

You have to select a main theme. You can also select a secondary theme.
Select your preference for the type of presentation being submitted - oral, discussed poster or poster.
Indicate up to 5 keywords that best describe your summary.

The abstract should content 4 paragraphs:

b. Materials and Methods
c. Results
d. Conclusions
IV. Publication of accepted abstracts
An author who submits an abstract accepts his abstract to be published in a journal specialized in HIV if it is selected by the abstract selection committee.
It can also be published on the ISHEID website and publications, such as ISHEID 2021 preliminary program and other conference materials (abstract archive, …)
